Resident doctors training in Saskatchewan under specially signed sponsorship contracts are considered members of Resident Doctors of Saskatchewan with Type B status. Resident doctors under Type B status are supported by the collective agreement, but the following areas of the agreement do not apply due to the restrictions of the sponsorship agreement with the University of Saskatchewan.

  • Salaries (amount is set by the sponsoring agent)
  • Stipends for call or administrative duties
  • Statutory holiday payments (can take the day off in lieu, but no extra pay)
  • Maternity Leave Supplementary Benefits
  • Paid travel time for examination leave
  • Disability Pay
  • Liability Insurance (CMPA)
  • Life Insurance
  • Health and Dental Program
  • Registration Fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan, University of Saskatchewan
