RDoS members are automatically enrolled in the health and dental plans provided through the University of Saskatchewan’s Sun Life Group Insurance Policy. Through the collective agreement, your health and dental premiums are paid by your employer while you are an RDoS member.
There is a three-month waiting period for dental insurance from the day you start residency.
Health insurance starts on day one of your residency training, there is no waiting period.
Where SunLife refers to "year", they mean calendar year of January 1 through December 31 - not the academic year.
You have travel medical insurance through your health plan.

15.5 Dental Program
The Employer shall provide dental plan coverage for all employees, except for Sponsored Residents. Detailed Dental Plan information shall be provided by the Employer upon request.
15.6 Extended Health Care Plan
The Employer shall provide extended health care plan coverage for all employees except for Sponsored Residents. Detailed Plan information shall be provided by the Employer upon request. The Employer will provide a Direct Pay pharmacy billing card for the union’s members pursuant to the rules governing such benefit.
