June Resident of the Month
Husam Muftah

I am currently completing my Family Medicine training at the Regina Family Medicine site and will be finishing residency at the end of this month. During residency, I have been involved in resident leadership initiatives, including serving as Chair of the Lead Resident Sub-Committee for the Family Medicine Program. I plan to stay and practise in Regina, with interests in community-based family medicine and care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Here are some of the reasons Husam was chosen as Resident of the Month (As quoted from the nomination letter):
"Dr. Husam was the Regina lead resident when I began residency. He did an excellent job of notifying us all of the courses we need to complete, ensuring we have our passwords and pins sorted out, and answering our questions without hesitation. He has showed multiple residents how to use the EMR system, despite being a new resident himself at the time."
"As a site representative, Husam was approachable, non-judgmental, and always open to feedback, fostering a positive and inclusive environment."
"He is a pleasure to work with and did an amazing job as a lead resident and as a colleague to help us all feel more welcomed and on track."
