Resident Doctors of Saskatchewan is the official voice of resident doctors training in our province. Governed by an elected Board of Directors, we advocate for residency training and education in the province, and we are the official bargaining association for the resident collective agreement.
Resident doctors bring fresh ideas to the health care system based on their current training and front line experience. In most major hospitals, a resident is the first physician a patient encounters when seeking care and often the last face the patient sees on discharge. Resident Doctors of Saskatchewan members are post-graduate resident doctors training for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) in one of their recognized specialty or sub-specialty programs.
Serving as a board member on the Resident Doctors of Saskatchewan board of directors is an excellent opportunity to gain leadership experience, to be knowledgeable and influence the training and working conditions of resident doctors in our province. Only current members are eligible to run for board positions.
Our board elections for the 2017-2018 year will be held at our Annual General Meeting on August 30, 2017. Full details of positions and election processes will be emailed to our members.
